Liberty Ciderworks adds ‘destination’ features, celebrates 3rd anniversary
SPOKANE, April 19, 2017 - Downtown business Liberty Ciderworks is marking its third anniversary with new features, helping create a ‘destination’ spot for fans of hard cider. Beginning this month, Liberty’s taproom and production facility will add award-winning ciders from Europe and North America to their offerings, including more than thirty bottled ciders and three guest ciders on draft.
According to co-owner Austin Dickey, Liberty has always included “cider evangelism” as part of its mission. “We’re proud of our ciders, but we also want to grow appreciation for the flavors and unique characteristics of cidermaking traditions from around the world,” Dickey said. “It just seemed like a natural fit for us to source and stock rare, award-winning ciders for our customers here in Spokane.”
Most of the ciders tapped or stocked at Liberty are not currently available anywhere else in Spokane, or, according to Dickey, anywhere else in the state outside of the Seattle metro area. In addition to ciders, Liberty will include a guest beer in its draft offerings to better address the range of expectations in the groups that stop in.
To celebrate the new offerings, as well as its third anniversary in business, Liberty is hosting its third-annual “Cider Splash” event on Saturday, April 22, featuring extended hours (1:00 pm to 9:00 pm), discounts and giveaways, plus an appearance by Couple of Chefs food truck.
