Northwest Cider Association Awarded Specialty Crop Block Grant

MOUNT VERNON, WASHINGTON (October 8, 2026)—Northwest Cider Association is excited to announce we have been awarded a new Specialty Crop Block Grant through the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Beginning in October 2026, this project will build on our successful culinary initiatives to position Washington cider as a premium dining beverage and expand opportunities for cider in restaurants across the state.

This grant will support:

• A Seattle fine dining activation that brings together influential chefs, beverage directors, buyers, and media to experience Washington cider alongside exceptional cuisine.
• Outreach at key food festivals to introduce new audiences to Washington cider and strengthen connections with the culinary community.
• A targeted earned media and public relations campaign highlighting Washington cider’s quality, versatility, and place at the table.
• Expanding restaurant placements by leveraging the proven Menu Adoption Cycle, where influential culinary professionals help drive broader consumer awareness and demand.
