Northwest Cider Association Awarded New Specialty Crop Grant

MOUNT VERNON, WASHINGTON (October 3, 2025)—

Northwest Cider Association is excited and honored to announce we have received a new Speciality Crop Grant that begins this month. Awarded through the Washington Department of Agriculture to support increased demand for cider made from Washington apples, this project focuses on driving direct consumer sales at cider tasting rooms in Washington State.

This grant will support:

• Implementing upgrades to our online and print map, making both more user friendly, accessible, and widely distributed.
  
• Building/strengthening partnerships with regional Destination Marketing Organization (DMOs) and relevant stakeholders, increasing opportunities for promotion of NW cider.
  
• Engaging cideries to ensure online map listings are current and placed widely (with relevant tourism partners) to garner increased visibility and drive consumer traffic.
  
• Promotion of maps and tourism partnerships through strategic ad placements.
  
• Deepening media relations for regional cider by hosting Familiarization (FAM) tours.
